Friday, May 04 2007

Yes, I will pray for our nation on
May 3, 2007.

"Prayer is an investment. The time you dedicate to prayer isn't lost; it will return dividends far greater than what a few moments spent on a task ever could. ... prayer winds up being our last resort rather than our first response." — Dr. Charles R. Swindoll, Honorary Chairman
Make your response to the call for prayer in one of three ways: MCC Prays is our commitment to fill ten hours of the day with prayers.  U.C. basketball star, Terry Nelson, will be the guest speaker at the Mariemont Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.  You might prefer to start your own effort, visit a prayer service, or join a local prayer walk. All details below!
The first Day of Prayer was declared by the Continental Congress in 1775.

I therefore beg leave to move That henceforth prayers, imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business; and that one or more clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service.
— Benjamin Franklin

Mariemont Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast: You’re invited for breakfast and a program with Mayor Policastro and Pastor Beausejour 7:15-8:30 in the Parish Center. Our guest speaker will be Terry Nelson, a member of the final four University of Cincinnati basketball teams from 1991 to 1993.  Terry now works with CityCURE and makes regular appearances on WCPO's Sports of All Sorts. For reservations contact Lois Barbro, 513-271-4376, x101.
