Kidz Trek for Nursery through 6th Gradeby Erin Zigmond, Director of Children's Ministries

Fall Sunday School, or “Kidz Trek” as we call it here at MCC, begins Sunday, September 10 at 10a. Get all the answers inside.

What's the curriculum?

You can get the printable schedule with teacher assignments and class study goals by clicking HERE.

What class is my child in this year?

September 10 is the day kids move up, or graduate, to the next class. Classes are divided as follows:

  • Nursery to 36 months
  • 3- and 4-year-olds in Green Room (lower level)
  • 5-year-olds to kindergarten in Blue Room (lower level)
  • Grades 1 and 2 in room 214 (2nd floor)
  • Grades 3 and 4 in room 202 (2nd floor)
  • Grades 5 and 6 in room 200 (2nd floor, Chapel Room)

Where do I drop my child off, and when?
Children nursery age through kindergarten may be dropped off and signed-in to their classrooms up to 5 minutes prior to the start of the church service at 9:55a.

Children Grades 1 through 6 may be dropped off and signed-in to the Chapel room, Room 200 on the second floor, at 9:55a.

All elementary aged kids' fellowship and worship takes place prior to class.  “Kidz Worship”, and it lasts about 15 minutes. Following Kidz Worship, teachers escort kids to their designated classrooms.

If I attend adult Sunday school at 9:00a, is there something for my kids to do during that time?

Pastor Denis presents the “Breakfast Club”, 9:00 - 9:45a, a preview sermon for volunteer workers who cannot attend the 10:00a serviceOf course! Your kids can be part of our kids’ Breakfast Memory Club or “Breakfast Club”. They will meet in the Club House at The Back Door on the lower level for an experience focused on Bible memory and fun! Parents may sign kids in as early as 8:55. At 9:55, they will be escorted to their classrooms for Kidz Trek.

The Nursery will be staffed from 8:55 to 11:30a every Sunday.

Teachers and Nursery volunteers are currently being recruited and trained. If you are interested in being a teacher, aid or sub, please contact Erin J. Zigmond. We also have other opportunities to serve within Kids Ministries with less of a commitment. Please call to inquire!
