J.O.Y. Luncheons Join us November 14 by Marianne Beausejour I am sure that the monthly luncheon for the older young women of the church has had many changes over the years. (J.O.Y. stands for "just older youth.") There is a core of women who have given of themselves for years at MCC and have now graciously stepped back and given the reigns to the next generation. However, as each successive decade passes, we are learning new ways to take advantage of our fellowship: to take the time to connect and enjoy each other.
Well, we have been changing as a group, proving that the transforming work of Jesus knows no bounds. There has been a desire to become more of a community. More openness to getting to know each other by connecting within and beyond our monthly luncheons. Next Luncheon is November 14. Contact Dell Springfield, or the church office. We have decided that we will have more participation in our time together. We will be sharing personal interests, hobbies, memories from our youth, treasures we have cherished, and interesting facts and tips on life and living. We want to get to know each other and what makes us tick. In fact, we have already started to change. We have had women much younger, with a heart for our group, invited to infiltrate our lunch. They have brought a new dimension that is refreshing and enjoyable. It is surprising the blessing we receive when we intend to bless others. God is good. If you have tried the J.O.Y. lunch in the past, think about giving it another try. We meet the second Wednesday of every month. We had 21 present at our last meeting. We are having fun, so join us! If you would like to attend, please give Lois a call at the church office. 271-4376 ext. 101 Come! Marianne Beausejour |
