Photos of The BIG Move!
Jesus, bless each contributor with a return of their time, energy, and sacrifice to make the move happen on time with very little expense. We give you all the credit for working out the details and providing all we need.Thank you MCC FAMILY!
You rocked it out and the Parish Center is ready for construction to begin. What an awesome turnout of labor and fun!
We all look forward to the renewed Parish Center! It's going to be great.
Thanks,
The BIG Move Team

We met with our architects last week and have begun to digest their new ideas. We believe there are several improvements to our preliminary plan, and we are now sorting through those and gaining an understanding of costs and priorities. Our funding development work continues on several fronts. Please pray for Joy Norman and the committee members in the next few weeks as this work continues. We plan to have an update at the congregational meeting which will take place Sunday, November 18 right after church. -- Pastor Denis |

When making a pledge to Imagine... it is more important to do what you feel God is leading you to do than the dollar amount you pledge. The desire of MCC is that you seek God's will and act as He leads you. Listen to this cut from the Surrender service that explains the process of giving to the Imagine... campaign. (Audio only ) |

Pledged: $1,350,000
Wow! If you were at church Sunday, I am sure you experienced the supernatural and wonderfully life-changing presence of God! If you were away, you missed a time of tremendous worship, an inspiring testimony from Joy Norman, and a wonderful time studying God's Word. Then it happened......after all of us had come forward with our Imagine offerings, we heard the amazing initial total - $1,350,000! That, with 25 families still seeking God for direction on what He wants them to give. The day was capped off by the Lord calling someone into the Kingdom - how amazing it was to welcome Elizabeth as our new sister in Christ! I want to invite you to come to the Parish Center tomorrow - Wednesday the 12th from 7-8 p.m. to worship, celebrate and give thanks for what God is doing in our midst. Come and be refreshed and blessed as we continue to seek God for the details of the next steps in our Journey. Please remember to pray for spiritual protection - Ephesians 6 is a good Scripture to pray - because after a move of God's Kingdom like we saw Sunday, we often see Satan fighting back. Please pray! Finally, be encouraged by these words from missionary martyr Jim Elliot: " He is no fool to give what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose". With my affection and His love, Pastor Denis |

We welcome Carrie Badanes to the Imagine Team. Carrie recently graduated from The College of William and Mary, and then promptly departed on the amazing adventure of riding a bike across the entire United States! She completed the journey in style, stopping with her team to work on building projects in several towns across the country. As she pursues her full time job search, she has graciously made herself available to help us write proposals to the dozens of foundations that might support our project. For example, we appeal to those foundations interested in community development, historical preservation, youth, elderly, and handicap accessibility. Carrie told us it would be a lot like college applications - helping different institutions see the unique aspects of our project that most appeal to them! Please add her to your prayers! |

1. How did this project get started?
We have known for a long time that our buildings – the Chapel and the Parish Center – needed extensive renovation. However, what got us totally focused on this project was a January 2006 utility bill of $7,000! We realized that something had to be done and probably more than a small church like MCC could handle alone.

It was a really hot evening in El Limon, our last night at the Casa Hogar Mama Paulita. We were tired, but also deeply satisfied with the love and community we had experienced with the children and staff during this mission trip. The worship and communion service began softly with a few songs and some prayers. Then suddenly, it seemed that God's presence intensified. Some kids began to kneel and lift their hands in worship. Others prayed quietly. Some cried. There were more holding hands, and then many hugging. |

The Top 10 reasons to be excited about renovating our buildings: | 10. | We would replace the windows in the Parish Center, 77 years old, and the boiler, 53 years old. Many of the windows don’t close and the boiler looks like a train car. | 9. | The Chapel would be air conditioned. Our July brides will remember something about their Chapel wedding besides the heat. | | 8. | We would place kids’ Sunday School classes – nursery through fifth grade – on one floor. Our visitors won’t be lost for days trying to figure out where to drop off a kid or pick one up. | | 7. | An elevator would be added to the Parish Center. Everyone can get to every floor! | | 6. | The clock would be repaired. It is no longer high noon or midnight at the Parish Center. | | 5. | Youth would have their very own space. The Parish Center would, once again, be a cool meeting space for the youth of our community. | | 4. | The Chapel would be restored – roof repaired, windows fixed, water seepage eliminated, wood refinished. We can look forward it being the home to our most significant events for years to come. | | 3. | Our meeting rooms would be bright and welcoming. More of the community will be drawn to walk through our doors. | | 2. | The Parish Center auditorium would become a more sacred space for worship. More room, and more appeal, for our community to hear the life-altering message of Jesus. | | 1. | God gave us two of the most historic buildings in a very historic community. We have the responsibility to care for them. | |

IMAGINE UPDATE: News On The Journey… 1. I hope you are enjoying the Imagine Journal! Use it daily, filling it with your thoughts and prayers. Yesterday I sensed the Lord telling me to write in my journal: "Get your hand on the hem of my robe.....and hang on!" This is an amazing adventure. |

Rick and Dick Hoyt from Sunday, 8/12: Pastor Denis called this, "A tremendous story about love, about imagination, about perseverance. What a picture of a father's love and God's love for us, and what a picture of a kind of love that can come between two people and transform them both. ... a mutually transforming relationship." |
